I always had problems with fonts in Linux both on desktop and on web. The fonts was crappy.

So I wanted to get a few Windows fonts. You can follow me.

On Debian (I use Debian Lenny) the "ttf-mscorefonts-installer" package will install the following fonts:

Andale Mono
Arial Black
Arial (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Comic Sans MS (Bold)
Courier New (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Georgia (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Impact
Times New Roman (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Trebuchet (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Verdana (Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
Webdings

Okay, install it.

apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
This command will install the above fonts automatically, you don't have to do anything.

Go to System>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts

Now you are able to set the newly installed fonts

See my settings (consider my screen resolution: 1280x1024):

Then go to Iceweasel/Firefox Edit>Preferences>Content>Fonts & Colors>Advanced

and set your fonts.

See my settings:

The above package doesn't include Tahoma. If you want to install Tahoma or other fonts, take a look around here
