I use Putty for SSH in Windows, I love it so I wanted to use it on my newly installed Debian Lenny, too.
I installed Putty in Debian.
apt-get install putty putty-tools
I copied my public and private key from Windows to Debian and I configured Putty as I used to set it in Windows.
But I always got an error message:
"Unable to open connection to user@servername:Name or service not known"
Ok, I searched in google, but I didn't get any useful result.
I figured out that the problem is the following:
In windows I have to set username@servername to Session>Host Name (or IP address) in Putty, but in Debian this setting is not working.
Solution:
If I set only servername to Session>Host Name (or IP address) and username to Connection>Data>Auto-login username, Putty is working perfectly.
